O dat ă , de dou ă ori, … de nenum ă rate ori/ Une fois, deux fois, ... maintes fois. Remarques sur les aspects unique, itératif et fréquentatif dans l’expression du temps en roumain et en français Adina TIHU Université de l’Ouest de Timi ş oara Roumanie Résumé. Continuant une analyse antérieure des valeurs de l’adverbe odat ă , correspondant du terme français une fois , le présent article élargit le champ de l’analyse à un autre équivalent de ce terme, la locution adverbiale o dat ă , rendant l’aspect unique, de même qu’à d’autres constructions ( de X ori ) marquant les aspects itératif et fréquentatif dans l’expression du temps. Nous voudrions attirer l’attention sur une particularité du roumain. Si, en français, les aspects unique et répétitif sont rendus à l’aide de locutions construites autour du même élément lexical ( fois ), en roumain la situation est plus compliquée ; on y retrouve des constructions où figurent, tantôt exclusivement, tantôt en variation libre, selon le cas, les formes dat ă , d ăţ i, oar ă , ori. Dans la grammaire roumaine, cet aspect est traité d’habitude dans le chapitre destiné au « numéral adverbial », mais comme les formations apparaissent dans le contexte caractéristique de l’adverbe, on peut dire qu’il s’agit de locutions adverbiales, construites à partir d’un numéral cardinal, ordinal ou distributif et ayant la fonction de circonstants. Abstract. Continuing a previous analysis of the values of the adverb odat ă , the Romanian equivalent of the French term une fois , this paper provides the analysis of another equivalent of this term, the adverbial phrase o dat ă , showing the unique aspect, and the analysis of other constructions ( de X ori ) that indicate the iterative and frequentative aspect in the expression of time. We would like to point to a peculiarity of the Romanian language. If, in French, the unique and iterative aspects are realised with the phrases built up around the same lexical item ( fois ), in Romanian the situation is more complicated, we find constructions that contain either exclusively or in free variation, depending on the case, the words dat ă , d ăţ i, oar ă , ori. In the Romanian grammar this aspect is usually dealt with in the chapter about the « adverbial numeral », but because the words appear in the contexts characteristic to the adverb, we can say that they are adverbial phrases, built up starting from a cardinal, ordinal or distributive numeral, and that they have the function of adverbial adjuncts.
